as i'm an agnostic, i'll be bringing my winning smile

Oh man, [info]themoononastick wrote I want to spend the rest of my life everywhere, with everyone, one on one, always, forever, now. for me for [info]drawn_to and it's everything I could have asked for in a Ryan/Spencer (and Ryan/others) fic.

In other topics, I'm probably not going to get O Christmas Troy out of my head anytime soon. Thanks, Community.

:DDDDD

I fear one day I'll meet God, he'll sneeze and I won't know what to say.

10 TV Sex Changes We'd Like to See courtesy of TWOP. Of course I just had to apply the idea to dramas...

Liar Game: Akiyama the cool, competent female swindler -- a role just begging for Kuroki Meisa.

Boys Over Flowers: Rich bitch Jandi meets four hot homeless guys in an alley. Hijinks ensue!

Hanakimi: Picture this in your mind: Mizuki the crossdressing schoolboy, nervously flattening his skirt, trying to catch the eye of his one and only crush, the beautiful bishoujo Oguri Shun.

I would like You're Beautiful so much more if it followed a klutzy choirboy and the temperamental diva who falls for him. (So basically, a love story between Heyi and Minam as an actual boy.)

1 Litre of Tears: Nishikido Ryo eyedrops into oblivion and Sawajiri Erika is the triumphant survivor of another terrible drama. The only setback is having to wait eleven episodes for Ryo to die.

Last Friends: A touching love story between two gay guys and the abusive girlfriend who beats people unconscious with canes.

Black & White: OMG. OMG. Two mismatched female cops and a fledgling mob lord caught in a national conspiracy. I WOULD WATCH THE HELL OUT OF THAT.

IRIS: I just want to register that I tried to genderflip this one and it didn't actually change much. "Okay, so what about a renegade female assassin... wait, canon already has those. How about a North Korean ex-spy out for revenge against the government that abandoned him... wait, shit, we got that too." How are you so awesome, IRIS? I can't think of any way to improve you!

P!atD/TYV RPS Fic: All to Catch a Thief, Brendon/Ryan, PG, 9200 words

My profile page is a blizzard. Thank you, awesome people, both named and anonymous. I'm just sorry that I've been so busy that I didn't have time to reciprocate before LJ yanked away the freebie.

All to Catch a Thief
PG, 9200 words, Brendon/Ryan

Summary: Brendon's life is comatose until someone breaks into every house in town except his. A fairy tale about criminals.
A/N: AU fic written for [info]drawn_to, and inspired by the day Ryan Ross looked like this and [info]heartequals' requests for snow, bright colors, shenanigans, and no porn. I hope you like your gift! :D

Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a sleepy town. )

history, family and otherwise

I visited my parents this past weekend, and had a chance to look through a family photo album I had never seen before. Most photos seemed to date from not long after the Civil War. Only a few were identified as family members, and overall the photography was not that great (lots of blank stares and creepy frozen expressions.) So I was getting a bit bored, and then I turned a page and saw this:

My immediate reaction was that it seemed very interesting, though surprising, that someone would have created Washington/Lincoln art back in the day, but then I noticed the angels and the laurel wreath and figured out the context of this embrace. But I do still wonder if some 19th century viewers of this image imagined Washington/Lincoln scenarios...

Bonus image: Washington/Lincoln: the edible version.

P.S. thanks for the snowflake cookies!

Beta, Please

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any applicant to graduate school must be in need of beta readers. I'm writing my statement of purpose and personal history statement, and at this point I would love to have a second, third, or fourth pair of eyes review it and turn my gibberish into a work of stunning clarity, persuasiveness, and eloquence. The first draft of the SOP is one and a half pages long and needs to have a couple hundred words excised. If you're interested in beta reading, please comment here or email me at purple.jaebi at gmail. You'll have my undying gratitude.

Unfortunately for agoraphobics, the cure is just around the corner.

Ask me why I love IRIS. Go on, ask.

New subber in action here with subs up to ep 14. Go go go! I personally look forward to the screaming and flailing when everyone watches 13. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Now I'm in the mood for badass ladies, so I think I'll watch more Damo. (My favorite moment so far: when the heroine's cover is blown as a female cop, she's strung up and left to the whims of the villains while her partner freaks out and rushes for help. What he doesn't realize is that she's already taken out her captors with her feet, freed herself from her bonds, and killed the people threatening her. By the time the cavalry arrives she's calmly standing among the corpses and they're like "..." )

here we go a wassailing

I come back after mostly ignoring LiveJournal for a week, and I see nine-hundred posts with links to a meme. >:( At least it made my backreading easier.

The cat and I are just going to go back to flipping through catalogs and trying to write. (Note the blanket, [info]mousapelli.) Happy December, LJ.

ETA: This is apparently my 1,000th journal entry. Ahahaha, I've had this journal for six years. God, I never post, do I?
